A wonderful park right uptown, Romare Bearden is a great place to kick back and enjoy the spectacular city vista.
Romare Bearden is a popular park located in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. It’s known for the city skyline and pretty lights at night as well as fountains for splashing in the summer. It's probably one of the best parks for a variety of amazing photo ops, and there are over 5 acres of land to spread out on with different backdrops. You will find many brides/grooms and prom-goers here on any given Saturday. Bring your cameras and your smiles.
Although it doesn’t have a true playground, families enjoy playing there due to the big field, cool sculptures, and Childhood Muse Plaza. Right around the corner are three popular kid-friendly restaurants – Mellow Mushroom Pizza (https://mellowmushroom.com), B. Good (bgood.com) and JJs Red Hots (jjsredhots.com).
The BB&T Ballpark and Bank of America Stadium are right there, so this is a great place to picnic and run out some energy before or after a game.

What to bring:
* A ball or kite. It has a huge field to run wild and is the perfect football field.
* A bathing suit and towel in the summer. Perfect fountains where you will often see children splashing.
* Sunscreen – there is not a lot of shade at this park, hence the perfect fountains.
