Roots delivers incredibly flavorful natural healthy bowls in the city where kids eat free, all day, every day!!!

I absolutely love this place! This is a little slice of heaven for full-time parents and picky eating kids. First of all, KIDS EAT FREE! Every. Day. You just have to purchase an adult-sized bowl (which is to die for!) and bowls for kids 12 & under (who are present) eat free. Even during the pandemic you can pick up the food and the kids that are present eat free!!  And the food is divine! You choose from fresh greens and/or wheat and rice, top that with veggies, proteins choices, cheese, and dressing. They have a lot of pre-made menu options with textures and flavors that make your mouth happy. You will love this place and so will the kids!

The food is high quality, nutritious and absolutely delicious. The vibes are outstanding and the atmosphere is positive and upbeat. My 2-4 year olds loved the bowls each time. They wanted me to save them to finish later. As if that weren’t enough to win you over… the quality of the food and the mission of the company is solid. They love to eat and believe nature does an outstanding job at supporting life. So they serve things that grow. They also want people to feel and be their best. SO… they create tasty wholesome food that promotes deep sleep, fast recovery, and high energy with long-lasting effects of productivity, resiliency, and happiness. Sign me up! 

This location is in the heart of the city by Virginia Commonwealth University.  Streets are typically one-way and parking is either in a small lot or on the street. All parking is paid at $1.50/hour with a 3 hour limit. We parked on Harrison at the corner of Grace Street and paid at the meter. You don’t have to but I printed out a receipt and put it on my dashboard. The parking meter will request your license plate and you can choose to give your phone number for them to text you when your time is almost up. Be careful! You will get a ticket if you run overtime!
