Rustic Roots Winery is a fantastic stop on your next trip on the St. Croix River Road.

As soon as you pull up the long and windy road with beautiful views, you are instantly relaxed because of the nature surrounding this winery. When you reach the end, you will see the huge building surrounded by vineyards. There is a two-level patio and tons of lawn seating available outside. Next to the building is a small food truck that sells food off the menu. It can get super busy here in the warmer months. You can make reservations online before coming to ensure you get a table. You are always welcome to stand or grab a spot in the grass with a blanket if no tables are available. 

The wine here is incredible. You can order a glass, bottle, or flight. The winery even offers wine slushies, and it was the best drink I have had in a long time, and they are very popular because the line to order one was long. They do offer beer and cider if wine isn't your thing. The food here is phenomenal. Most items are sharing size, so definitely order a few different things to share so you can try a variety. We ended up with the Margarita Pizza, and it was delicious. The food menu changes based on different seasons, so definitely take a look at the website before seeing what has changed. 

I highly recommend adding this to your stop when you take a day trip on the St. Croix River Road. After enjoying an afternoon here, head into downtown Scandia and take a leisurely walk to check out some of the cute small-town shops, including St. Croix Chocolate Company.
