Although your first thought will be to climb the Space Needle, the Smith Tower offers views, learning, and family fun.

Built it 1914 this was the tallest building to be found west of the Mississippi River, at the time. The entire process of getting to the viewpoint on the top floor is an experience everyone can enjoy. After purchasing your ticket at the front door you'll wind your way through a museum. In this portion covering history of the last 100 years, you’re encouraged to touch and interact with the exhibits. Even the elevator is a ride with an escort by the operator, and a see through door. Once you make it to the top, you'll be greeted with some of the best views of the Seattle skyline, and surrounding mountains. The elevators in the observatory are historic, and the open air deck provides incredible 360 degree views of the Seattle skyline. The entry fee is definitely worth it, whether you are making a dinner reservation or wanting to just explore the observation deck. The architecture inside is gorgeous, ornate, and very detailed.

If you’ve worked up an appetite on your way, there is also a full service spot with prohibition inspired drinks and food. The food is delicious and Don't forget to grab a coffee, hot chocolate and pastry in the cafe located at the base of Smith Tower on your way out. The entire experience is memorable and fun for all! It is also an awesome opportunity to learn about historic architecture and all about this original skyscraper in Seattle.
