Snake Discovery is the perfect spot to spend some time learning and exploring with your kiddos. 

This reptile zoo is a great choice when wanting to find an indoor place to explore with your family especially if you have reptile-loving kids.
Emily, the owner and her team are well known around the Twin Cities metro for putting on educational programs at libraries. In addition, they have a YouTube Channel with 2.5 million subscribers. The staff here are very attentive and ready to answer any questions you or your children may have. While we were there, they brought out different snakes for people to be able to touch and ask specific questions about. Everyone working was so personable and it makes such a great impression on guests. Many of the people visiting were from the metro area but I overheard a few saying they drove 3-5 hours because they got hooked on Emily and Ed's YouTube Channel. That speaks volumes to me. 

The zoo area itself isn't overwhelming or huge. Everything has its place and it's organized and laid out in a way to capture your eye to the reptiles. Many of the areas are laid out with things at a lower eye level and things above at an adult's eye level. They have these neat step stools that look like rock formations all over so kids can climb up and see inside the higher-up areas. It was such a great touch. The name makes you think that it is just filled with a variety of snakes, it is so much more than that. There are turtles, spiders, lizards and even an alligator.

Be warned that on the way out they have reptiles for sale. You may have a little one trying to talk you into buying one. I told my kids ahead of time that we are absolutely not coming home with a reptile and we are there to see the animals, not bring one home. 

There are many things to do nearby if you want to make a longer day out of your visit to the area. Catrinas, just down the road has amazing food! Skyzone is just a short car ride if your children need to bounce off some energy. I really hope you enjoy your visit to Snake Discovery.
