Family-Friendly Hike to Beautiful Waterfall

Stillhouse Hollow Falls is a great hike for beginners and tiny legs as the waterfall, with a shallow pool for little ones to splash around in, is less than a mile's hike in from the parking lot. The trail is well-marked with signs and white paint on trees, and while there are a few options they all take you to the same destination. Parts of the trail, however, are a bit steep (especially on the way back at roughly 350 feet in elevation) and at a couple points you have to cross a very shallow stream that can be slippery, but even in flip flops I did just fine. Dogs, on leash, are allowed. The falls is an hour south of Nashville, by car, and we did not find a bathroom onsite.

Directions and Lat / Long: U.S. Highway 43 Summertown, TN 38474; 35.463, -87.268

Tip: If you are coming to / from Nashville to the falls, you can break up the drive by stopping in Spring Hill at the lovely Fischer Park at Park Royal where there is an awesome playground for older kids!
