Sweet Apple Park Trailhead is great for short walks or multiple loops!
Sweet Apple Park Trail Head is a heavily trafficked loop in Sweet Apple Park. The whole system is located on the grounds of Sweet Apple Elementary School and tracks the property. The path is 1.1 miles long and is good for kids, a short walk, or multiple loops of exercising. It goes past the sports fields, wooded area, cuts in front of the school, and back into the fields past the playground. The path is mostly packed gravel and macadam at points. They have exercise stations along the path for use. Lots of parking is available as this area also serves as sports field parking.
If you are interested in packing a picnic or some snacks there are areas along the trail to enjoy. You are not permitted to bring bikes, skateboards, or roller blades on the path. Furry friends must be kept on a leash, but this is a great place to bring them! They ask that you clean up, of course, dog waste and anything you bring with you like trash/recyclables. Also, this place is wheel chair accessible but assistance may be needed at some parts of the trail.
This is a fun place to bring kids to take a nice walk and then play on the playground. There is a large sandbox with many toys to play with and is covered. Lots of swings, play structure, and many free-standing pieces of equipment. The equipment is bright and eye-catching with areas to get away from the sun. There’s a small pond to captivate the kiddo’s attention. You are not allowed to go in the water and neither can pets. Overall this place is fun and a nice way to connect with nature. I would recommend it more for families but everyone can find something to do!
