Do you or your child like to climb? Check out Circuit Bouldering Gym in Tigard.
Circuit Bouldering Gym is a great indoor spot for those rainy days. The Tigard location opened in 2014 and is the second largest gym. They have a variety of walls to climb with different skill levels and slacklines. In the back left corner, there's a kid section. This area has a few walls and slides to come down. They also have yoga and fitness that's included with any pass. The staff is friendly and the areas are very clean. There are cubbies to put your stuff in, a water fountain, and bathrooms. Food is not allowed on the mats, but there are benches to sit and have a snack. It gets very busy during the weekend so I would recommend going early during the weekdays if you are looking for a slower time.
There are single or family memberships that can be month to month, prepaid month, or prepaid annual, day passes, and punch cards ranging from $18 to $1750. They have chalk and shoes available to rent for $2-$4. To be able to enter the gym, everyone has to watch a video online and sign the waiver. Ensuring everyone knows the rules helps limit everyone from injury. Children 12 and under need to be supervised by an adult.
What to wear
Athletic clothing or clothing that's easy to move in is best. Tennis shoes, socks, or climbing shoes are best to climb up the boulders. Bare feet are not allowed.
Classes and Camps
For ages 5 to 14 they offer after school classes that teach the ins and outs of climbing. They provide progress reports to keep track of how they are improving. They also have summer and winter camps for ages 5 to 12.
Note for groups with children ages 3 and younger they ask for adult to child ratio to be 1:2. For ages 4 and older the adult to child ratio has to be 1:4.
