Hidden Gem of a Playground with Some Unique Features.

Located in Fort Worth, near the zoo, Tillery Park is a small park that features a playground, picnic areas, and green space. The playground has two different sections.

The first section is a wooden playground that resembles a "town" and western theme. There are slides, a rock climbing wall, steps, monkey bars, a bouncing bridge, balancing beams, and spaces to run around. There are painted murals of cowboys on horses, a teepee, and the "western town" has an Albertsons, a Bank, and a realtor's office. In this section there is a toddler area for younger kids to play.

The other section has a large play structure, smaller play structure, swing set, and merry-go-round. The large play structure is geared towards five and up, has several slides, steps, and interactive play stations. There is a small awning on this structure for some shade as well. The smaller of the two play structures is geared towards preschool-age children. It has two slides, steps, a climbing wall, and an interactive play station. The swing set has baby, traditional, and ADA swings. Both areas are filled with mulch and surrounded by mature trees, giving shade throughout the day in the park.

There are many benches around the park to sit and watch the kids playing. Just be aware that the front part of the playground area is closed in; however, the back area is open. A small paved path sidewalk goes around the park area and is great for young riders or kids wanting to ride on scooters. It's not very long, but something nice to move around on. There is also a lovely green space just steps down from the playground area. Bring balls, frisbee, and other play equipment to enjoy this space or a picnic to relax!

Tillery Park is such a unique little park that is definitely worth the drive to check out. Consider this park on your next family outing!

If you want to make your outing longer, just down the steps on the left side of the park is Forest Public Pool. You can play at the park and then head to the pool to cool off and swim!
