Trail View State Park sits on 454 acres and runs between Bethpage State Park and Cold Spring Harbor State Park.

Trail View State Park has space for activities such as biking, hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and horseback riding on trails. Trail View State Park has lots to offer based on its topography. You can explore various wetlands, forests, marshes, and fields. There are plenty of bird migrations that happen around and in the park in the fall and spring, making it a great spot to look for wildlife.

A section of the Bethpage Bikeway runs through this state park, as well as a part of the Nassau/Suffolk Greenbelt, making this a great place to go on a family bike ride or even a destination along the way. In the winter, this park is great for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

There are two super popular trails in the park that would be great for families. The first one is the Stillwell Woods Loop via Trail View. It is a moderate hike and 7 miles, so could be a challenge for little legs, but a fun hike for older ones. It takes around 3.5 hours. Keep in mind that the park sits on some hilly areas so there will be elevation changes.

The Climb Blue MB Trail Loop is considered easy and is about 5 miles long. It would take about 2 hours to complete. You will see lots of flowers and forested areas! Be sure to wear bug spray regardless of where you are in the park.

Natalie Proctor
Natalie Proctor is what some would call a “Southern transplant” in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She grew up in Memphis, Tennessee before attending the University of Arkansas to pursue a degree in advertising and public relations with a minor in marketing logistics. Natalie attributes her love of the outdoors to her parents always encouraging her to have a deep appreciation for nature and all that the world has to offer. As a family, they spent many years growing up going on camping trips, skiing, rafting, and traveling together. While Natalie loves the seasonal lifestyle in Jackson, she was ready to become a part of something bigger and challenge herself. She found Happy Active Family at the perfect time, upon meeting Caitlin and Thomas, and strives to help other families spend meaningful time together, just as she has been able to with her own.
