Wait Park is a small park located in downtown Canby.
We recently visited Wait Park after going to storytime at Canby library. There's street parking surrounding the park. There are two playgrounds with bark ground cover. There are benches and picnic tables between the two areas. The toddler area has a play structure with open slides, tunnel slides, tunnel, and tic tac toe. There are a few rocking horses and baby swings as well. The big kid area has a tire swing, big kid swings, a half moon ladder, a tall metal slide, and lookout tower. There isn't much shade around the playgrounds, so I would recommend bringing sunscreen and water. The grassy areas are great for a picnic lunch or lawn games. The gazebo is a great place for family pictures or having your children dance. There's an informational sign with a walking path around downtown Canby. Bathrooms are located on 4th Avenue. There weren't any baby changing areas so prepare to change in the car or ground. Park and Gazebo can be reserved by filling out the Wait Park Reservation form. There's a discounted price for residents and full price for non-residence.
During the holidays, they have Christmas tree lighting and they put lights all around the park.
There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you are looking for a great place for a snack, I recommend checking out B's Bake Shoppe for pastries, sandwiches, and coffee. If you are looking for more food, Wayward Sandwiches has a great selection of sandwiches that come with fries.
