Experience the beauty of the forest above and below you in a simple setting at Watershed Park!
Located south of Kirkland, Watershed Park is a nature area full of trails, restoration areas, and beautiful scenery. The overall park is around 75 acres and provides views of Mount Rainer to the south. The trail is mostly flat, wooded and a manageable distance. There are some picnic tables along the park to enjoy a picnic. The park has a few loops and some out-and-back trail areas. You can go around the old reservoir area. The only downside is the location next to the I-405 highway. The noise isn't too bad but can get a bit annoying to some. Getting into the park is not obvious, you must go through the back of a neighborhood and park along the street. There is plenty of parking between the houses and the side of the park. The trailhead cannot be missed as it is labeled with signs, wood posts, and a trashcan. A small creek runs along some of the trails. The length of the main loop is only a few miles but you can get creative in merging loops/trails. This is a great thing for little kids or if you have a short time budget. If you want to check out more hiking in the area you can head to the east or west of Watershed Park. Bridle Trails State Park and Yarrow Bay Wetlands are nearby. Enjoy the time you are here connecting to nature with your family!
