Wilson Park is a great place to get into nature and play the day away.

Located in the town of Carrboro, right next door to Chapel Hill, Wilson Park features a playground, baseball field, tennis courts, picnic tables, pavilion, restrooms, and access to Wilson park trail and Adams Tract. The playground area has two play structures, sand pit, and swing set. The larger play structure, geared towards ages 5 -12, has slides, bridge, tunnel, tic tac toe, steps, monkey bars, and climbing. The second structure, for preschool aged, has steps, slides, interactive station, and climbing. The sand pit is just a small walk away from the playground area and musical station to play at. Bring your sand toys for some fun. The swing set has both traditional and baby swings. The playground surface is filled in with mulch. There is picnic tables around the playground area as well to enjoy a snack or a meal. The playground area has mature trees in and around giving you plenty of shade during the hot summer months. Restrooms are located near the park. The tennis courts are lighted and stay open late around 10 pm during the summer. The baseball field is mostly used by leagues but can be used when it's not being used by leagues.

Near the baseball field is the access to the trails. There is a bike maintenance station there with tools and pump.  Wilson Park trail is only a small fragment of the park trail. This trail and the Adams Tract start at the same points. Wilson Park trail will take you from the park to Estes Drive. Adams Tract is a 27-acre urban forest with hiking trails and nature observation areas. The one loop trail is 1.25 miles with three different access points. To access this trail you will start on the Wilson Park trail and head left onto the red trail to go into the woods. These trails are perfect for beginner bike riders. Bolin Creek runs through this section of the park. There is a variety of wildlife you can views. There is a kids TRACK trail map to explore.

This small park is packed with some fun for a great family outing. Check this out for your next family adventure. After head into town for some local eats or treats.
