Yanticaw Park has a newer playground with two large jungle gyms, a shade structure, ball fields, bathrooms, and a water sprinkler.
This large park is just under 30 acres with a wide walking path perfect for stroller or dog walks. The Third River runs through the middle of the park, which adds a peaceful water element (or not if your kids like to throw things in water!). The park also has several ball fields (basketball, softball, football, bocce, and shuffleboard).
We love the playground, it’s huge and has a lot of fun features that really stand out from other playgrounds. The pre-school jungle gym is great for 2-5 year olds and is bigger than jungle gyms in most parks. There are slides of varying heights, a bridge, and various climbing structures for different ages and bravery levels. The main jungle gym for kids 5-12 also has several slides, bridges, and climbing walls and structures. There’s also a sit-and-spin and a large rope web in the center of the playground. Off to one side are the swings, including an accessible swing. Near the playground's entrance, you can find parent/baby swings, where you can swing with your baby or toddler facing each you, or away from you. A sprinkler pole can be found next to the bathrooms. It’s great on hot days, but once your kids discover it, they may not want to do anything else!
Trees surround the fenced-in playground but aren’t close enough to provide much shade. There is a shade structure built in the middle of the playground with benches that face either direction so you can watch your kids play on either the small or large jungle gyms.
