How to spend time with the kids in Fort Point and Seaport.
When in Boston, visiting Fort Point and the Seaport – located side by side – is a must thanks to the wonderful Children's Museum and the best playground in the city, Martin’s Park at the Smith, which is one of our favorite places to burn off some energy. Our beloved Martin’s Park has a giant pirate ship, slides, splash pad, rope climbing, and so much more – kids will love it. The playground is located right next to the Boston Children’s Museum, which is one of our favorite places to burn off some energy. However, if you have a fire-truck-obessed child then we also recommend stopping by the Boston Fire Museum.
For some good, kid friendly eats, head to Flour Bakery, we love them for both breakfast and lunch. Afterwards, to fill those sweet tooth cravings, Taiyaki – a really fun ice cream shop where the dessert comes in fish-shaped cones with unicorn horns and ears – is just a short walk away. (My boys love it!) If you’re looking for something less sweet, and with an adult beverage too, Trillium Brewery is another great option for food and drinks. We love it because it can get pretty busy and loud so there’s no need to silence your kids!
Afterwards, if you still feel like burning off some energy outside, check out the Harborwalk: A great place to walk, run, or let the kids ride their bikes or scooters. It’s also a great place to enjoy the lovely views of Boston. We highly recommend heading over to the steps of the Institute of Contemporary Art, which is a great place to sit and look out onto the harbor or just to climb up and down the stairs! Don’t forget, you can take a water taxi around the harbor or get off at one of the other stops to explore additional Boston neighborhoods.
