Airport Lakes Park and Playground

Airport Lakes Parks is only two miles from the airport and features a playground, a disc golf course, a hiking path, soccer fields, pavilions with grills, and a dock on a lake. 

While at this park, you're so close to the aiport that you'll see landing gear down as planes land and hear the rumble of planes taking off overhead! It is also near many airport hotels and restaurants, so it is perfect if you're staying in the area before a flight and looking to burn off some energy! 

The parking lot of this park is next to the soccer fields and playground, so it's easy to access with little ones.  The bathroom sits next to the parking lot as well, making it convenient for a quick pit stop before leaving too. There are indoor bathrooms with changing tables available there. Beyond the bathroom building, you will find the start of a trail that leads out to a disc golf course. Haven't you tried disc golf yet? Bring a frisbee for starters and practice throwing it to the various goals!  Continue on the sidewalk trail, and you will be led to more pavilions with grills and eventually to the dock over Lake Warren. The dock right on the lake is a great spot to have a quiet picnic, view the local wildlife, or even watch planes with unobstructed views.   

Airport Lakes Park is a great little park for an outside day.  It has a variety of activities to participate in for any age and it is rarely busy. Occasionally the gated soccer fields may be used for local league activities, but it should not affect access to the park itself. So if you're looking for a quiet place to hike, picnic, play or throw a frisbee, this park is it! 

Need a bite to eat?  You are a block away from State Road 436 which features a variety of restaurants, from local finds to big recognizable names. Forgot something before your travels? You'll find plenty of stores for shopping right outside the airport area too!
