Officially called 'Ye Old Castlewood Park" but known locally as the 'Alice in Wonderland Park," this playground and open space is the perfect place to spend an afternoon with kids in Colorado Springs.

Alice in Wonderland Park has a variety of play structures for kids to enjoy. There are 3.2 acres of green space to run and play on, plus slides, swings, and things to hop on. There is a large structure for older kids and a smaller play structure for smaller ones.

Plenty of picnic tables make it perfect for a snack or lunchtime outing. Early in the morning, you may find you have the playground to yourself, but otherwise, you are likely to encounter at least a few other families enjoying this great park.

This is the perfect park for a  bike or scooter. The park itself has a winding path to elicit the Cheshire Cat's tail. It is ideal for a kid who loves to be on their wheels, as the street protects the path. We've also seen many parents teaching their kids to ride bikes here, as the paths are wide and flat with plenty of grass to "crash" into.

The paths that run through this park connect it to others in the area and have tunnels under the main roads, so it's perfect for a family outing or workout with kids. You can even connect to Wolf Lake and take a stroll around to watch people fish and paddleboard.

However you enjoy this park, don't miss the miniature door that kids just love to walk through.

There is ample free street parking, just watch for signs and curb painting. There are no bathrooms. The park can be crowded on nice days.
