Ashbridge is home to a wonderful playground with an impressive variety of play structures and also features ample room to roam.
Ashbridge Memorial Park and Playground, named in memory of the soldiers of WWI, is a former farm-turned recreation center with an inviting, fresh and colorful play space. There are a wide variety of activities for little ones to use their imagination and to climb to new heights. Situated in a park space nearby to Bryn Mawr College, Ashbridge Memorial Park is home to not only this super fun playground full of swings, slides and climbing structures but there is also a pristine paved walkway for stroller walking/jogging, tennis courts and a self-guided storybook trail that the local library put together. The playground features a variety of tall, small, curvy and bumpy slides which were a highlight for my son as well as rocking cars. There are plenty of baby and big kid swings (10+) as well as a swing for children of all abilities.
The playground tends to be significantly busier on the weekends but there is so much to do, and plenty of areas and play structures on which to spread out. The kids learn valuable lessons about patience and taking turns for the more popular items, such as the ladder to the park's tallest slide. The bathrooms are open seasonally. Parents can be spotted drinking coffee while their kids refuel with snacks or lunch at picnic tables situated in the center of the playgrounds. The wood chipped ground covering makes for soft landings but if you have a child who is prone to test the taste of just about everything, you may consider opting for another playground.
