Ashley Nicole Dream Playground, in East Knoxville, is a gorgeous space for ALL kids to be able to play!

This playground is the first of its kind in the area. It opened in 2005 and was named in honor of Ashley Nicole Manes, who suffered injuries in a 1999 automobile accident that left her paralyzed. Ashley Nicole Dream Playground is 100 percent accessible for all children to be able to play. It is a part of Caswell Park and is across the street from their softball fields. This park is not fully fenced in, and is located right beside a street. Be aware of fast children who may be attracted to the the road! 

There are three huge playground structures that are a part of the park- complete with wheelchair ramps as well as stairs. They have slides, swings, and so many more activities. My toddler had a blast on the ship playground, which has several toddler-sized materials. The log cabin style structure was adorable and was very well-maintained! There are a few toddler swings, and an ADA swing. Plenty of benches surround the playground for adults to enjoy. The park has several trees but the playgrounds are in direct sun during parts of the day. 

The playground is located in the middle of a very large green field with plenty of space to run and kick a ball around. There is also an outdoor fitness area for older kids and adults! A walking trail goes around the park as well. There is a shelter with picnic tables available for rental, and restrooms are available.
