Bala Avenue Park and Playground, in Bala Cynwyd, provides an all fenced in park experience with your child’s safety in mind.

The very first thing I ever noticed at the Bala Avenue Park is that it is completely fenced in.  I have also noticed that other parents are diligent about locking the gates behind them when coming or going.  While there is no parking lot, there is plenty of street parking available right in front of the park. With two different play structures designed for different age groups, this park is a great park for all ages.  There are also two full tennis courts to enjoy, so don’t forget your rackets and tennis balls.  Please note that the flooring is all wood chips.  While there is not a lot of grass, there are some benches and picnic tables to enjoy your snacks and lunches. An added bonus, there are restrooms that even include a changing station which can be hard to find at small parks sometimes.

Need something sweet for the kids after playing at the park? There is an Insomnia Cookies, half a mile away from the park to enjoy after a fun filled day playing at the park.  They even have ice cream, not just cookies! If you don’t care for sweets don’t worry, there are also plenty of restaurants within a mile of the park.  Need a break from playing on the playground? The Bala Cynwyd Library is also only half a mile away, that has their entire second floor decided to children’s books, toys, and games.
