Brentwood Park is a hidden gem in the middle of Fairfax!

This quiet park and playground are tucked into a quiet neighborhood off Route 29 in Fairfax, not far from major shopping like Wegmans, Costco and Home Depot. A short walking path leads to a fun playground, picnic area, and a small pond.

The playground has no swings but has several slides of different heights and one of the longest tunnels we have ever seen to crawl through. There are benches for the parents and a picnic area a short distance away that even has a grill. The path continues past the playground to a small pond where we saw people fishing. The path was short but stroller-friendly the whole way and so secluded, it felt very peaceful. We saw very few people here making this is a great park for social distancing! The whole park has some shade from tall trees but the pond area was very sunny. If you are fishing you should definitely bring a hat and sunscreen!

We parked at the end of the cul-de-sac on Goodwood Drive. Our GPS had a little difficulty finding the park but turning left from Appling Valley Road onto Goodwood Drive led to a dead end with plenty of parking for the park. The playground is up the hill from the parking area. There are no restrooms here but many shopping areas are very close by! Nearby restaurants include Moby Dick House of Kabob  at Fairfax Towne Center for yummy kabobs, hummus and rice!
