From a workout course to tennis courts, Bucher Park offers a variety of activities and is worth a stop if you are in the northern suburbs.

This has recently become our  "go-to" walking park. It has a 1/2 mile walking path that we usually take 2-3 times around the perimeter of the park for a good walk.  The walking path has a workout course set up along the route so you can get a workout in as you are on your route along the path. This is a perfect setup because it allows parents or caregivers to get a workout in while your kids (age depending) enjoy the playground...that's a win-win for everyone!

The playground is appropriate for preschool-aged kids up to elementary-aged kids. In addition to a walking path, there are plenty of other options here. There is a large tennis court that is highly trafficked in the mornings and afternoons. There are baseball fields and basketball courts and soccer fields to practice sports skills.  There is plenty of green space to just run and get your wiggles out, too.

After some playtime at the park, you can enjoy the use of the pavilion with picnic tables for your picnic lunch or snack. In the winter there is a small hill on the west side of the park that is perfect for sledding. In the summer it’s often used as a play hill, too. It can become a busy park during sports seasons so heading to the park in the early mornings or afternoons is suggested to avoid the peak busy hours and the community/sports teams utilizing the park. This is overall an awesome park that has an activity for everyone and gives a suburban atmosphere.

There are porta-potties for emergencies.
