Buranko Cafe and Bar is a beautiful, vibey, aesthetic spot to eat delicious food and sip on amazing drinks while your littles stay entertained!

Buranko Cafe and Bar is definitely one of my favorite kid-friendly Portland spots. How often are kids not only invited but catered to in a beautiful trendy restaurant?!?! Oh my goodness Buranko is my dream. The space is also incredibly trendy! Modern, bohemian, so many plants, and a lot of exposed brick along with downtown views, I just can’t handle how great they’ve put together the space.

Buranko goes out of their way to welcome kids into their restaurant. First of all, they have changing tables! They also have some unique seating- from woven egg-like chairs to couches, the seating alone might be enough to keep your toddler interested in sticking around the table. The space is also stroller friendly and there's enough room for your littles to waddle around if they’d like. There are two fish tanks near the couch seating which was my daughter’s favorite part of the Buranko experience! They also have a play area for kids! Beware- I’ve heard from other moms in the area that it is closed from time to time. The staff is so kind and seem to genuinely enjoy having littles in their restaurant. Lastly, they offer cute matching kid-friendly plates, cups, and cutlery. 

The Goods

Not only is the space amazing but so are the food and drinks! Buranko offers delicious Asian food from roasted teriyaki chicken, Pad Kee Mao, Galbi, and Ramen. The menu does not disappoint. They serve coffee, tea, kombucha, and AMAZING homemade “fizz” or sodas. If you’re looking for something a little stronger they also offer a long list of specialty cocktails, beer, and wine.
