Camassia Natural Area in West Linn is a hidden gem that is perfect in the spring and during all other seasons.

This area is most famous for its blossoming rare and native flowers during the springtime, but I personally love it year-round. The nature area offers so much and is the perfect short little look for your little ones. The whole area is a total of 22.5 acres.

It is hidden in a quiet neighborhood where parking is sparse. You may pull up and wonder if you are in the right place, you are. It can get busy during the spring since that is the most popular time for the park, but during other times, it is not too bad and you can park on the street easily.

As you enter the area, it is recommended to start the trail on your right-hand side and make your way around in the loop. The Terrace Trail and Northern High School Trail lead you to the high school and another neighborhood, so if you are with young ones, I recommend doing the loop to avoid extra walking and backtracking.

The whole area has fun boardwalks which our little one loved. She called them bridges and had a blast running through them.

There are not many areas to rest and stop for snacks, meaning no benches to sit on. There are, however, rocks where you can make your bench. This is what we did and it worked out perfectly.

If you choose to go on this walk on a clear day, you will get a beautiful peak of Mt. Hood. That may be my favorite part of this park because it is just so breathtaking.

No bathrooms are available and it is not stroller friendly. Carriers are advised for younger kids.

Lots of bugs and mosquitoes so bring bug spray.

Enjoy your walk!
