Zip-lines, swings, and slides galore! The newly renovated Clarke House Park Playground has everything a kid could wish for in a playground.

Clarke House Park is home to the Clarke House, listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The house was originally built in the early 1900s by William Clarke and serves as a meeting place for the Orange Park Historical Society. Besides having a pretty cool historic house to look at, the park also has beautiful gardens, peaceful views of the lake, nature trails, large oak trees providing tons of shaded areas, pavilions, grills, sand volleyball court, and so much more.

The playground is one kind where kids (and some of us grown-ups too) can play for hours. There are many colorful play structures to climb on, ride on, jump on, slide forth and glide on. We loved the accessibility zip line swing so that all abilities could enjoy the thrill of the zip line without the fear of losing their grip. It is completely fenced in but so large that you will certainly want to find one of the many shaded benches scattered throughout to keep watch on your littles. In addition, there is a sand box area so you may want to bring shovels and sand toys as well as many smaller structures perfect for toddlers and preschoolers.

One of my favorite parts was outside of the playground, where we found a nice little trail with a Story Walk to follow. It was so much fun to follow along and act out the animals we heard about in the story. It was such a great way to enjoy being out and having fun in nature.

After playing for hours we worked up an appetite for some treats (and coffee for me) so we stopped at The Lab Bakery & Coffee Bar. It was the perfect place to satisfy our cravings and indulge in some yummy cupcakes.
