Deerwood Rotary Children's Park is a nice little spot for tiny tots to play and run around.

If you are looking for a playground where your toddler or preschooler can explore mostly independently, without the intimidation of larger playsets, this is the place for you. It is designed for kids under six and will be a dream come true for little ones that want to climb, slide and swing in their little spa. There are colorful play structures with multiple slides, big swings, an accessible swing, and infant swings. 

It is fully enclosed so kids can run free with a little less worry from their parents about their safety. A shaded picnic table is right in the middle, making it very convenient for parents to comfortably relax while watching the kids play. Other benches can be found scattered throughout the park. This picnic table is the only shaded area, though, so of course in summer, the playground equipment can get very hot. So you'll want to go while it's not prime sun time. One of my favorite features is that it has soft astro-turf ground. This is so much better for when little falls occur and less messy than mulch.  

The park has its parking lot and bathrooms with a changing table and a water fountain. The park is maintained by volunteers through the Deerwood Rotary Club and seemed well-maintained when we visited. 

This was worth the drive for us to go to a playground where my three- and five-year-olds could play independently and safely. We made it an extra special trip with a stop to  Five Fx Icecream and Waffles Shop , only 10 minutes away, where we splurged on creative waffles shaped like fish! My kids have now named this playground the fish waffle place and cannot wait to visit again.
