The Dolores School Playground is a small but mighty climbing playground in downtown Dolores, Colorado, available whenever school is not in session.

On the corner of Central and N. 4th street in downtown Dolores, Co you will find the Dolores School Playground. This small playground has several climbing structures perfect for older kids. There is street parking directly in front of the playground, so it's easily accessible. We also used this as a jumping-off point for walking around town to grab coffee and pastries in the morning. There are no bathrooms available at this playground.

The playground is on the public school property and is therefore only available when school is not in session. However, during the summer, it is open all day. While we were in town we never saw anyone else at this playground. There is a larger park on the other end of town, but our older kids enjoyed the challenging climbing required for this playground.

The central part of this playground is a rope-climbing course. The four-year-old needed help getting on to the play structure because it is intended for older kids, and thus everything was out of his reach. Our older kids, six and nine, had no problem. I even took a go climbing on the structure because it looked like so much fun.

There is a fun and challenging modern climbing wall, with different faces you can climb. The kids quickly mastered this and had fun trying out all the different sides. Again, smaller children would need assistance, but it was perfect for our elementary-aged kiddos.
