playground, hikes, run

Eagle Rock Park is perfect for the whole family and furry friends with great playground stuctures, tons of shade and beauitful hiking trails along the Boise Foothills.

We love heading over to Eagle Rock Park, It is tucked into the Boise Foothills and has tons of shade and space for the whole family. It's located right by the Idaho Old Penitentiary in the beautful Warm Springs neighborhood of Boise. Gorgeous old historical homes and great little cafes and eateries are nearby and it's not too far from Downtown Boise. Eagle Rock Park is a very cool park with tons of slides, a basketball court and pathways for strollers or scooters. One of our favorite things about this park is the low monkey bars. My daughter has been wanting to learn how to do the monkey bars but is afraid since they are high - these are the perfect height for all ages and allow the youngins to learn as well.

We always pack a lunch or pick up snacks on the way to this park because there are so many beauitful trees to sit under. Also heading on an adventure walk or hike after enjoying the park is one of our favorite things to do. On the backside of the park, there is a path that takes you up into the foothills. We tend to do a little loop along the Chief Eagle Eye Reserve and thats a perfect little walk and explore time for the kids. There are lots of logs and rocks to climb along the way, it is truly a beautiful walk.

You and your famlily will love this park and playground. Enjoy!
