The East 110th Street playground offers beautiful waterside views.
The wooden structure of the East 110th Street Playground blends in beautifully with the surrounding trees and is close to the shore of the Harlem Meer. There are lots of climbing structures, monkey bars, and slides. Felt cushions underneath the climbing structures reassure parents as their kids run around and climb in case they trip. Kids of all ages will love the tire swings, baby swings, and big kid swings.
Wide open space and a gate surrounding the playground offers area for kids to run around freely without parents worrying. I would recommend bringing chalk to decorate and doodle on the pavement. Bringing scooters is also a great idea! Kids can ride around the open area in the playground or the paved paths along the water. Another awesome feature of this playground is the water spray and play area, which cools kids off in the hot summer months!
The East 110th Street Playground has lots of benches to sit on and enjoy the beautiful view of the water. Also, across the path from the playground is the Harlem Meer Fishing Pond. This is an excellent spot for kids to fish or watch others fish, and to get closer to the water and admire the cityscape. There is also a bathroom across the playground for public use. The paved pathway is a nice place to walk with friends, with a stroller, or ride a scooter. Trees branch over the walkway, providing shade interspersed with sunshine patches, ensuring no one gets too burned. This playground is also wheelchair accessible.
