Kids Play Park (Castle Park) is a hidden gem in the heart of Folsom!

This park features a huge castle themed play structure, a “tot-lot”, swings, a pavilion and picnic tables. The wow factor of the castle is sure to bring fun to any kid’s day. My little ones shrieked with excitement when we first visited this park and it has since become one of our favorites.

The main playground features slides, swings, monkey bars, huge tires for climbing, rope bridges and tunnels, a wiggly rubber bridge, doorways, rooms, nooks and crannies, and provides endless inspiration for creative play. There are so many ways to get from one platform to another, this park is the perfect place to play “hot lava”!

The “tot-lot” has baby swings, little dollhouses to play in (bring your own 7” or smaller dolls if you’d like) and a pretty large enclosed sand area with a slide. We brought sand toys to share and my youngest almost didn't even leave the sand enclosure the entire time!

The playground is fenced in around the back side but opens on the side facing the street. There are plenty of large trees around, but if the pavilion is full, the picnic tables next to the pavilion and the tables around the back side of the playground’s fence are in full sun, so bring a picnic blanket just in case. There are no bathrooms available, so plan accordingly. The park is right next to Humbug Willow Creek Trail, a great paved jogging and biking path that features educational signs about pond life. The trail connects up with a web of trails so you can take a quick jog or walk or a longer one straight from the park.
