Frances Street Park is a beautiful neighborhood park with a cute ship-themed playground.

It is a 9-acre well, maintained neighborhood park in Hillsboro and is a pleasant place with lots of amenities and opportunities for recreation. There is a shelter with three picnic tables in the covered area and two more tables outside of it. Also, BBQ and trash cans are available next to this area. Many benches are positioned close to the paved path, and I recommend you bring bicycles and scooters for your kids. I also highly recommend Frances Street Park for stroller jogging. Besides that, it is an excellent place to walk your dog because there are three dog waste stations with bags and trash cans available in different spots. During the spring and summer, many different flowers make your visit to Frances Street Park even more pleasant.

A basketball court and sand volleyball court are available. And kids can play with sand toys there, so bring some with you too! A large grassy area good for active plays surrounds the two courts and the ship-themed playground. It is a small but beautiful and brand-new structure with two slides resembling a sailing ship with three steering wheels for your kids to play as Captain. The floor is covered by a well-maintained synthetic turf, good for toddlers that don’t walk already. I’m sure that small kids will love this playground area! Also, it has some shaded spots with a picnic table and two benches under the trees.

Finally, a portable toilet is available, and a small parking lot for no more than six cars on SE Frances Street. You have to cross Reedville Creek and a small nature area with a short walk from this area. Another option is parking your car close to the playground area on SE Green Street. Also, at the end of this street, there is an entrance to the Imlay Elementary School, where one more playground area is available on weekends, school breaks, and non-school hours. Have fun!
