Frog Pond Farms is a 40-acre farm with 80 animals, a walking path, a farm-style playground, a coffee and gift shop, and endless activities, perfect for toddlers and little kids!

Since joining the “Two Under Two Club,” farms have become a favorite activity for our family because they tend to be less busy, have tons of activities for little kids, keep us exploring and moving our bodies outdoors, and are full of sensory experiences. So when I sought to find farms with a walking path, Frog Pond Farm came up in my search, and holy cow, this place is pure magic! Every season, Frog Pond Farms has a unique feature, and regardless of when you go, you can easily spend four hours here, so be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of snacks!

You will pull into a large, dirt parking lot when you arrive at the farm. If you are adventuring with young children, you will want to wear them in a baby carrier or push them in an all-terrain stroller that can handle grass, dirt, and packed gravel. Admission is $10 per person ages three and up; children under three are free. Regardless of who requires an entrance fee, everyone receives a cup of animal feed. From there, you will walk around to the side of the entrance/gift shop, where hours of entertainment await your family!

Frog Pond Farms is situated on 40 acres. They have approximately 80 animals, including alpaca, bunnies, camels, chickens, cows, donkeys (big and miniature), ducks, emu, geese, goats, guinea pigs, llama, pigs, ponies, rooster, sheep, and tortoises. You are allowed to hand-feed most of the animals, except the camel.

They have 20+ activities for your littles to enjoy in the summer and fall. These include water pumps with slides to race rubber duckies, cornhole, slingshots, mining activities involving rocks, sand, and water, giant hamster roller, tetherball, mini basketball, saddled up barrels for your kiddos to ride like a horse, a herd of donkey bouncers, giant connect four, ladder ball, giant sandboxes with kiddo sized sand digger excavators, and of our favorite climbing structures and slides made of haystacks and tubes, amongst other things!

May - Early September: Farm Walk-About

Wander the wide, dirt, and packed gravel trail to pet and feed the animals and enjoy watching your children giggle when they experience a llama eating food right out of their hands!

September - October: Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch is typically open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. They also set up additional activities for kids to enjoy during this season.

October: Spooky Farm Walk

This special event happens on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in October. This spooky and well-decorated trail is nearly 0.6 miles long and winds through forest and farm trails. The first few time slots before the sun sets tend to be a little less scary, making it ideal for the littler kids. Once the sun sets, they bring on lots of spooks!

November - December: Christmas Trees & Holiday Market

As the season gets rainier and colder, the farm experience is focused on visiting the animals, bonfires, warm beverages from their coffee shop, and of course, holiday shopping for Christmas trees, garland, and wreaths. Also, be sure to check their website or social media to learn when Santa Claus will be there for photo opportunities!

There are plenty of picnic tables, a handwashing station, and a single large port-a-potty that you could fit a single stroller or wheelchair in. However, since there is only one restroom and most of the kiddos are on a similar nap schedule, the ebb and flow of the bathroom line can be a bit much just before nap time, when people leave. If your kiddo is potty training, you may want to consider having a little training potty in your vehicle in case your kiddo can’t hold it on a line. Also, there is no diaper changing area, so you will want to plan for diaper changes on top of a picnic table or your vehicle.

Your kiddos will definitely get dirty; this is a farm, after all! Be sure to bring an extra package of baby wipes and some hand sanitizer. If your kiddos are big into playing with water or sand, make sure you outfit them with easy footwear, like crocs or boots so that they can kick off their shoes.
