playground

Goyne Park is a great playground for kids of all ages for a couple of hours of fun.

Goyne Park is a park that has a little something for everyone. The playground has two play structures: one tot lot and another for older children. There are two baby swings and two regular swings. The surface of the park is mulch. My children love the ride-on insects, designed so two children at a time can ride. There is one picnic table in the shade, making it easy to take snack breaks! Bathrooms are conveniently located right by the playground.

We love to bring frisbees or a soccer ball and play in the large soccer fields adjacent to the playground. If your crew is up for more exploring, the park also has a dog park around the back. Goyne Park is also home to baseball fields. Should your family take this outing on a weekend or during non-school hours, check out Ecoff Elementary, which is adjacent to the park. It has 4 play structures and a bus loop, perfect for novice bike riders! If you decide to come during non-school hours you could park at Ecoff Elementary in the staff lot. On other days, there is ample parking right in front of the playground.

One of the best things about the park is that it is rarely crowded. In fact, we enjoyed this playground so much during spring of 2020 because we never saw anyone else here!

Coffee Break

When we finish playing here we typically go for treats (coffee for the grown-ups!) at Grant Coffee Company, a quick five minute drive away. This community-oriented coffee shop has toys for children, discounts for military and school staff. My son loves playing with the blocks and trucks, while I get to sip my coffee!
