St. Edward's Epiphany School has a brightly colored, state of the art, sunny playground in Bon Air for toddlers through teens.

Installed in fall 2021, the modern and safe play structures offer variety and fun for not only the students of St. Edward's, but also the community. The church and school serve the community by keeping the playground open to all who wish to play!

There are two large play structures; one for older children, another for younger children.  Both of my children, ages 8 and 4, loved both playsets, though the ropes course and large slide did intimidate my younger child for just a moment!

During our visit, my 8 year old especially enjoyed climbing the ropes course, which ends in a large slide. Doing routines like a ninja, she just couldn't get enough of the ropes course!  My 4 year old loved the see-saw, interactive, musical wheel and soccer fields. He also loved spinning the wheel with colored beads and making colorful patterns.

There are 6 swings, all for school aged children. There are no baby/toddler swings. A large picnic pavilion is perfect for taking snack breaks, or enjoying lunch before acting as ninjas on the ropes! The playground surface is bouncy rubber, thus making any "boo-boo" much less painful!

Unfortunately, there are no public restrooms; however, if the church office is open, you could check in and ask to use the one inside the church/school.

The playground is especially crowded following Sunday School/Mass.  A less popular time to visit is weeknights, week day afternoons and Saturday mornings.

Five Minute Drive to Decadent Desserts

Before or after visiting the playground, check out Coco + Hazel, a charming bakery, ice cream and coffee shop that is known for its specialty shakes. My children adore the Candy Land shake - a huge specialty shake made of vanilla or strawberry ice cream, layered with cotton candy, two lollipops and sprinkles around the mug's rim!
