Tempt the little ones on a stroller run with a convenient playground to check out at the end.

Hains Point is a peaceful, but older playground in DC, that offers a very large fenced in area and two parks (big kiddos and little) for kids and parents who love to get out and play! It's super quiet during the week, but it can be a bit bustling on nice, warm weekend days.

Though the play area hasn't been updated recently, it's still perfectly usable and what it gives up in modern updates, the location more than makes up for with the views! There are beautiful views of the water and there are plenty of other amenities around the playground to enjoy. There is a golf course, a mini-golf course, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and lots of green space to utilize.

There are picnic tables around if you want to pick up a bite to eat and enjoy the outdoors.

The playground area also has a nice soft surface to protect from nasty knee scrapes. While Hains Point Playground doesn't have swings, they do have classic monkey bars and enough good climbing to tire everyone out!

There are bathrooms available on site. Weekdays offer easy to find parking as well.

Runners, like myself, will love the option to do a grown-up or big kid-run (or stroller run) at this beautiful place while also taking care of the little ones' need for some park time. If you'd rather stop at the playground mid-way, check out the Hains Point/East Potomac Stoller Run route for a four-mile excursion.

For a bite to eat, Surfside is available at the nearby Wharf
