Hansen Ridge Park, which opened in 2013, has a playground for kids from 5 to 12 years old and paved paths that connect to the Westside Linear Park trails.
This 5-acre park is named in recognition of the Hansen family because it is located where the Hansen Farm stood hundred years ago. Hansen Farm was an 80-acre land where the family raised dairy cows, potatoes and hay crops. The Hansen home was finished in 1919 and still stands today. You can find it on the west side of Kaiser Road.
This place has one picnic table and two benches available. Unfortunately, there are no restrooms or parking lot. However, you can park your car close to the playground entrance, on a dead-end street. On weekends and week days after school hours, it can be a little difficult to find a spot there.
The playground has a large structure with high climbers and slides, and two swings (none of them are ADA-friendly nor for babies). Bring a stroller, bicycle or scooter and enjoy the Westside Linear Park paths too. The trails are very well maintained, clean with garbage cans around. There are some benches available where you can watch different types of birds and insects. You can also bring your dog (on a leash) to have a family walk. Finally, I recommend you bring a hat, sunscreen, and a bottle of water on sunny days. There aren’t many shaded areas on the playground nor paths. On the way back home, you can stop at Bethany Village to have some food or refresh at the splash pad/fountain available in summer.
