Happy Valley Library has a playground next to the library parking lot, a whole floor dedicated to kids, and weekly crafts bags.

The outside of the library has a lot to offer. During the cherry blossom season, they have beautiful trees blooming. Directly across the (small) street, there is a park called Village Green Park, and there is food located close by (within walking distance or a short drive).

They have a small “Friends Book Sale” area at the entrance where you can purchase and donate used books. In addition, the front desk usually has “kits for kids” that are free! In the photo section, I have included a picture of the basket and activity.

The Teens and Children’s section is upstairs. Throughout the area, they have wall games and interactive features.

If you are walking from the elevators to the kids’ section, there is a little craft area in the right-hand corner. When we visited, they had a bird display in this area. Lots of books about birds and materials to draw your bird to add to the wall. It's a great way to keep kids busy at the library.

They have a very large selection of various books, organized by categories and upcoming holidays. The librarian mentioned that they have many events in the works for April and May and check their newsletter or website for updates.

You can see some videos on crafts and science projects on their website. This link is the specific link to the kids’ portion of the website: https://www.happyvalleyor.gov/community/happy-valley-library/childrens-programs/

This library is part of the Clackamas County Libraries, so you can use your card here if you already have one for Clackamas County.
