With multiple play structures, grassy hills, a rock climbing wall, a pond with a water fountain and plenty of space for a picnic, Heather Farm Park is the perfect backdrop for a perfect afternoon.

We stopped at Heather Farm Park and Playground on a road trip from Sacramento and expected to spend a few minutes playing and eating lunch. When we arrived we realized that this park trumped anything else we had planned and our best bet was to stay for a few hours and enjoy it. The 102-acre park includes a GIANT playground (I cannot stress this enough, it is huge), a dog park, community center, multiple baseball fields, equestrian center, fishing pond, botanical garden, and swim center.

The playground at Heather Farm Park has three giant play structures, swings, grassy hills, a large sand play area, and is great for multiple ages, large groups and children of differing ability levels (it is an all-ability playground). There are plenty of activities for little ones who are just starting to walk and toddlers along with keeping older kids excited with features like the rock climbing wall and the three-story-tall play structure. We even grabbed an ice cream cone from the ice cream truck while we were there, which put the cherry on top of a picture-perfect afternoon spent at this park. I will warn you though, your kids will not want to leave this park!

There are restrooms available outside of the swim center directly across the playground parking lot. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot, though we visited on a weekday so I am not sure if the parking lot fills up on weekends. The park seemed to get more crowded around 2 pm.
