Hood River Waterfront Park is a family-friendly, dog-friendly park situated on the Columbia River with a playground, picnic tables, beaches, an amphitheater, and ADA-accessible paved trail where you could easily spend the entire day!
The playground has a large rock climbing structure suitable for bigger kids and a small rock climbing wall ideal for toddlers. In addition, there is a slide built into the hill, springed bouncer animals, individual spinners, and two large group spinners. Music lovers can delight in playing their jumbo xylophone and PVC drums for music lovers to play into the wind of the gorge!
On warm sunny days, bring a picnic and spread out on the large grassy field, or bring your swimsuit to take a dip in the Columbia River. If you are feeling up for a stroll, this park is situated along a portion of the Hood River Waterfront trail, suitable for all abilities, wheelchairs, and strollers.
Leashed dogs are always welcome, and you will find dog bag dispensers throughout the park.
The park is directly across from several restaurants, breweries, a distillery, and a coffee shop. In the summers, you will find festivals, live music, and other events. Consider grabbing a beer at Ferment Brewing, Pfriem Family Brewers, or some delicious wood-fired pizza from Solstice.
Restrooms are currently closed due to the pandemic and the winter; however, there is a port-a-potty outside the restroom building. Additionally, you will find a water fountain with spouts situated at varying heights all the way down to a water bowl for your dog. There is an outdoor, open shower area available in the warmer months.
Pull-in parking spots line the sidewalk that spans the entire waterfront park, and additional parking can be found all along Portway Avenue.
