Jane’s Carousel in Dumbo will complete your trip to the Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The elaborately decorated wooden amusement ride was originally built by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company in 1922, and refurbished by Jane Walentas sixty years later. It is an amazing historic sight to see, and the location on the water is stunning, with a perfect view of the city skyline as you parade in circles on the horse.
Parents and kids alike will be very impressed by this gorgeous carousel. There are 48 horses to choose from, and kids love being able to take their pick to ride their favorite. There is nothing quite like the Brooklyn Bridge Park in NYC, and a carousel ride is no exception to this, it is truly a one of a kind attraction that every family should visit.
The carousel is enclosed in an acrylic pavilion to protect the integrity of the carousel’s historic features. This also allows it to be in use year round, so no matter what time of year, you can enjoy a ride. If you go at sunset, there is even a light show projected on to the sides of the pavilion to add even more excitement to the experience.
