Play, picnic, and promenade at Brooklyn Bridge Park's Pier 5! 

Every pier at Brooklyn Bridge park offers a variety of unique adventures, and Pier 5 does not disappoint. There are sports fields, picnic areas, playgrounds and other fun attractions!  If you have little ones in tow, bring them to the Picnic Peninsula Playground to enjoy the two small playgrounds best suited for smaller children.  They're both fenced-in and just along the entrance area. 

Adjacent to this playground is Picnic Peninsula, which is full of picnic benches. There are hibachi-style woodfire grills for a fun homemade outdoor meal. Or you can enjoy a takeout meal from nearby restaurants, such as Forfino Pizza on Pier 6. Oddfellows Ice Cream is a great dessert option located directly on the pier, beside the benches. It is a beautiful place to enjoy a sweet treat after a family dinner and walk on along Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The sports fields jut into the water, making it a beautiful location for playing any sport, from soccer, lacrosse, rugby, flag football, or ultimate Frisbee. There are also bleachers available to watch from above, so your sports-obsessed kids will love stopping by during your day between the pier activities. 

During your day, you can also take advantage of the lockers available at this pier to store belongings you won’t need on hand during your family day. Enjoy all of the fantastic options Brooklyn Bridge Park offers, and be sure not to overlook Pier 5!
