John Kemp Park is nestled next to a green belt with plenty of room for nature exploration

John Kemp Community Park is always bustling with young children on weekdays, making it a great park to plan a playdate at, meet other parents with children the same age as yours and have plenty of little friends for your child to play with. The main play structure is large but everything is pretty low to the ground, making it a great spot for toddlers and young school age children to play. The play structure has lots of walkways and bridges which seem to encourage kids to run and chase each other through the various walkways. There is a bridge leading onto the play structure making it wheelchair accessible.

The park also features a huge covered pavilion complete with two sections, barbeques and sinks. It’s a great place to plan an event or birthday party. There are baby swings and big kid swings and restrooms available. The park is in between a baseball field (one of two at John Kemp Community Park) and a soccer field (also one of two at John Kemp Community Park). On the back edge there is a nature preserve where we explored the pond and watched the many red-winged blackbirds swooping and calling. There are a few trees that are good for climbing lining the edge of the playground, which was very exciting for my daughter.

I imagine with the many sports fields this park most likely becomes crowded when there are sporting events. Evenings during baseball season and weekends during soccer season may be crowded.
