Landa Library is a fun neighborhood playground in Monte Vista surrounded by oak trees perfect for a picnic.
One of our favorite local burger spots, Mr. Juicy is on the way to the library so we like to stop there and pick up some lunch before heading over to the park. As you walk up to the park you follow a tree-lined side-walk and you can choose to have your lunch at one of the stone picnic tables or, if you bring your blanket, on the manicured lawn under a tree.
The playground has something for everyone, a gated playground designed specifically for 2-5-year-olds. In this area, there are two toddler swings as well as a play center with a slide, rock climbing wall with a rope for assistance help. Under the steps that take you to the slide, you will find an area where children can play with sand or the metal abacus.
Across the lawn, there is a larger play area with a covered slide as well as monkey bars, a bridge, and metal steps that can take you up to the top level which is a little over 7’. There is also a swing set for older children, with two swings as well as an ADA swing.
This is a beautiful park, not overly crowded and very peaceful. The trees provide much-needed shade and help the park to not feel as hot as a spring day in Texas normally would.
If you go on a day the library is open I highly encourage you to stop in.
