The mini water park at Livermore Community Park is one of the best we’ve seen!
The main thing you’ll notice about Livermore Community Park when you first arrive is the huge water storage tank that sits right in the center of the parking lot and all of the surrounding sports fields. The park has playground features that are a bit more spread out than at most of the parks we’ve been to, but I think it actually works really well! With the features spread out it allows your child to spend time exploring one thing before getting distracted and running off to do something else. There are also a few natural features mixed in to allow you to alternate between playground equipment and nature exploration pretty seamlessly.
The main playground was not my daughter’s favorite, but she’s a nature lover at heart - so she beelined straight for the big dirt hill right behind the playground. The playground is pretty basic with stairs, a slide, monkeybars, a zipline and a few ladders. If there had been other kids playing or her sibling had been with us I’m sure they would have played there for a bit as it is a nice structure. The big dirt hill has lots of embedded rocks which were fun to dig out and a little nook formed by a circle of trees, what a great find!
Around the back of the dirt hill towards the street there is a large sand play area and what looks to be a water feature with a bridge that currently doesn’t have water in it. The next thing we encountered was a giant oak tree that was perfect for climbing. Then we ventured over to the balance beams and finally around near the baseball field to check out the splash park. The mini water park looks like the water flows from above from a huge half-pipe and then runs down a man-made riverbed and under mini bridges before going down the drain. We can’t wait to check it out once the water is turned on for summer!
