At the Penny Arcade in the heart of Manitou Springs, you'll find coin-operated games for kids of all ages. It's a family favorite that is sure to delight.
Although very few of the games still cost a penny, you'll find a few machines that do. Change machines are available throughout the Penny Aracde, so you don't need to come with coins in hand. The Penny Arcade is a great place to introduce your kids to the beauty of old-school entertainment. It's easy to stop by for a quick ride or game or spend the afternoon exploring the different rooms and types of games. Just keep an eye on little ones as it is easy to get lost among the different buildings and machines.
The outside plaza is packed full of coin-operated ride-on toys. Much to the delight of little kids, you'll find every character and type of machine from cars to horses to Thomas the Tank Engine. The best part is they all still work. Put your coin in and hop on - little ones delight in all the choices available.
There are over 400 games spread over five old rooms which each have its own feel. You will find 30 different racing games and over 20 different pinball machines. Our favorite room is the horse racing room full of horse games, my favorite of which is a version of skeeball! (The winner can pick tickets or a penny arcade mug!)
You will find some 1930's fortune-tellers, old-school driving games, and of course air hockey and pool. However, if you are in o more modern arcade games full of flashing lights they have those as well. Every time we go we try something new.
Some games give you tickets that you can trade-in for prizes in the skeeball room.
The Penny Arcade can get very crowded on weekends, so come on a weekday to have the place largely to yourself.
