With separate big and little kids playgrounds and a shady lawn in between for parents, Margaret Azevedo Park is great for letting littles and big kids test their skills at an appropriate level
The first time we went to Margaret Azevedo park it was for a playdate with multiple kids ages 3, 4, 6 and 7. It ended up being the perfect place for both little and big kids to play and the parents to keep an eye on things. The big kids' play structure is quite big and tall and has a few steep climbing features. There are about 6 different ways to climb up, so it’s great for kids to master their balance and confidence in climbing. The structure also has a few shade sails, keeping it shaded even on the hottest days. There are some nice big trees surrounding the park and a few benches along with a large covered pavilion.
The little kids' play area has a play structure with our favorite monkey bars in town! The bars are low to the ground and the steps are high enough that younger kids can try them. Typically monkey bars are so tall the little kids can’t reach them. There are also rocker seats, a baby swing, an all abilities swing, a couple of slides and a tube telephone speaker set. I also like to bring a scooter for the little kids so they are distracted from wanting to try out the big kids' play structure.
There are restrooms available at the park and ample parking. There are well-tended grassy fields and it’s a great place to get out and run around.
