Outdoor Adventures Abound at Marsh Creek State Park in Pennsylvania.
Marsh Creek State Park is located within about an hour's drive from Philadelphia is centered around a 535-acre, manmade lake. The lake offers boat rentals (only electric or non-powered boats are permitted) and fishing in the stocked lake, but swimming is not permitted. Small children can enjoy wading at the edges of the lake, but signs prohibit wading out too far. There is a public swimming pool in the park, however, although there is an admission fee for the pool and it can get very crowded. There is a small playground located near the pool. The park offers about 12 miles of trails for hiking. During the winter, ice fishing, ice skating, and ice boating may be available when the conditions permit.
Keep in mind that Marsh Creek State Park often reaches parking capacity on busy weekends throughout the summer months. When this occurs, the park is closed temporarily to vehicles. Vehicles are rerouted outside the park until the park is able to open to vehicular traffic once again.
