Mill Pond is a beautiful neighborhood park in Forest Heights, Portland.
This gorgeous 8-acre park in a very quiet and calm neighborhood has a large grassy area excellent to play with kids, good paved paths for walking around the pond with a fountain and some ducks and geese who love to stay close to visitors.
The playground is really fun. There are two large structures for kids of different ages. The first one, adequate for kids between two and five years old, has monkey bars, climbers, tunnels, and slides. The second structure is partially covered and has high climbers and slides. Underneath it, there is a pretend café with a picnic table for kids. Besides that, this playground has a very nice rocker car that my daughter loves, a merry-go-round, a see-saw, and swings for kids, babies and one "Mommy and me" too. Close to the playground facilities, there are some benches, two picnic tables in a shaded area (where my daughter had her 3rd birthday picnic party), and in a separated area there is another picnic table with a BBQ available.
Finally, portable toilets are available, some fitness stations through the paths, and lush and colorful vegetation especially in the spring and fall seasons. There is no parking lot, so I recommend you to park your car close to the playground area on NW Mill Pond Rd. Also, you can bring your own food and have a picnic, or drive your car a few minutes and grab a coffee and snacks at Jim & Patty’s Coffee or at Heroes Café, both in the same neighborhood.
