Monument Park is another great local park that makes combining playground play and nature play easy!

Monument Park is located in the Whitney Oaks neighborhood of Rocklin. The playground is well suited for young school aged children. There are a few features that would be fun for the toddler age range and older school aged children as well. The park is situated in a neighborhood and surrounded by a grassy field. The park sits lower than the road and houses creating a nice gradual hill for rolling and doing somersaults down. My children spent the majority of our trip to Monument Park rolling down the hill! The other side of the park is a stretch of oak nature preserve that has some trails through it from foot traffic. There is a nice wooden bridge and paved paths that pass through the park and if you add the edges along the street to create a loop, the path is a good length for a quick stroller walk.

The playground features three slides, swings, baby swings, a chain to climb across, a spinning wheel that can be held onto above your head, monkeybars, and at least 7 different ways to climb up and down the play structure. There are covered picnic tables with barbecues at the park, it would be a great place for a birthday party or play group to meet. The playground is a good distance away from the street and the street is uphill, so this park is perfect for little ones that are prone to escaping. There are no restrooms at this park, so plan accordingly.
