Opened in 2017, Mountain View Champion is a 21.5-acre park with different facilities for people of all abilities.
This park, adjacent to Mountain View Middle School in Aloha/South Beaverton, houses the first synthetic sports field in Oregon designed for athletes of all abilities. In addition, there are artificial turf fields with lights, a specially cushioned field to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, and a natural baseball/softball field with a multipurpose outfield. Also, there are community gardens, tennis courts, a shelter with picnic tables, a parking lot, restrooms, water fountains, and wider pathways with no steps.
Besides that, Mountain View Champion Park has an extra-large inclusive play area that all kids enjoy. There are swings, a merry-go-round, large plastic musical percussion instruments, and many climbers, slides, and bridges. The colorful synthetic floor with small hills also invites little ones with a lot of energy to roll it down. My daughter loves to do it there!
Also, with a short walk on the path, you can find another playground with four more swings (two are appropriate for babies) and a large structure with a very high slide and different types of climbers. One of them my daughter, has named a giant spider web. Also, in this play area, you can find a bench, one picnic table, and a shelter close to the trees, but without tables.
Bring water, snacks, and sunscreen because I’m sure your kids will spend hours playing in this place. Finally, keep in mind that parking can be tough during events or on weekends.
